Abigail Pipcho, a senior at Abington Heights High School, recently won third place in Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union’s annual John Paul Ruggiero scholarship competition. The annual scholarship awards three scholarships, totaling $4,500, to members who are local high school graduating seniors who plan to attend a two- or four-year accredited post-secondary institution. Students are judged on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, demonstrated need and community involvement. They are also required to submit an essay or other project based on a predetermined topic relating to the services and benefits of a credit union.
