Video surveillance equipment at Summit Square Plaza failed to show the incident and police said she later admitted to the false report.
Retail theft: Kristin Rorick, 27, Norristown, was charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft. Courtney Port, 22, an inmate at Lackawanna County jail, and a 15-year-old juvenile were also charged with summary counts in the same incident about 8:35 p.m. Oct. 14. All three went to a business at Summit Square Plaza, allegedly stole numerous items and were later identified through video surveillance.
DUI: Jozette F. Harris, 47, Newton Township, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI). Harris was stopped about 4 p.m. Oct. 17 after an off-duty state trooper called 911 and reported her allegedly erratic driving while traveling north on Route 6/11. Harris was stopped on Old Lackawanna Trail Road. The officer determined she was under the influence of alcohol. A blood sample was drawn and a test was done that showed an alleged blood-alcohol level of .272 percent.
Theft: On Oct. 22, police received a report of theft of numerous items from Whipple’s Building Materials, Grand Avenue. Police have some leads and have launched an investigation; arrests are possible in the near future.

The matter is under investigation and police are encouraging visitors and residents to report any suspicious activity that occurs at the park to police.
Criminal trespass: Alexander P. Accardi, 19, address unknown, was charged with a felony count of criminal trespass. Accardi was arrested about 7:20 a.m. Nov. 2 after police on general patrol spotted him standing along Earl Street. The officer knew Accardi and was familiar with an incident that occurred about 11 p.m. Oct. 30, when a resident called 911 and reported that Accardi was allegedly in their home after entering in an unknown manner. Accardi reportedly fled that evening prior to police arrival. Accardi was arrested on July 24, 2009, for the same offense and was on probation for that crime. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Gibbons. Bail was set at $10,000. The Lackawanna County Probation Department placed a detainer on Accardi for the probation violation. He is in the county jail.
Underage drinking: Kyle Andrew Pollock, 18, Dalton, and another juvenile male were charged with underage drinking. Police stopped them about 1:35 a.m. Nov. 1 after their car they were in was observed traveling on South State Street with a flat tire. Once stopped, police determined they had consumed alcohol.
Investigation: About 9 p.m. Nov. 5, police responded to domestic dispute at a Clarks Avenue residence. Once on scene, police determined that no crime occurred and no charges were filed. Because of the nature of the incident, Lackawanna County Children and Youth personnel were notified for a possible follow up.
