The Waverly Community House offers Camp Create, an annual, specialized, themed summer day camp for children with special needs. According to organizers, Camp Create is designed to engage children with special needs, including physical, cognitive and behavioral challenges. This year’s sponsors include the Margaret Briggs Foundation, Fibers of the Earth LLC, Gerrity’s Supermarkets, Lackawanna County, POSH at the Scranton Club, Walmart and an anonymous benefactor. Week one of Camp Create, “Traveling through Time,” will begin on Monday, Aug. 11, and week two, “Where the Wild Things Are,” will begin on Monday, Aug. 18.
