It's time to dust off your tiaras because on Wednesday, Oct. 23, the divas will make their descent on the Abingtons.
The Abington Business and Professional Association (ABPA) will host its third annual Diva Night Out in the Abingtons on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 5-9 p.m. at the Nichols Village Hotel and Spa, 1101 Northern Blvd., Clarks Summit.
Event chairwoman Deborah Kennedy, assistant vice president and branch manager of the Abington office of Penn Security Bank, explained that, although the event's main purpose is to celebrate fun times with friends, it also has an added benefit.
"Diva was my idea - I enjoy finding ways to help small businesses succeed," she said. "The reason for doing Diva was to showcase small businesses in our area as well as to add ABPA membership value. The Abington Business and Professional Association helps small business as well as the community."
Diva Night Out in the Abingtons will include food and desserts, a cash bar, pampering stations, a fashion show, a silent auction, entertainment and vendors.
Kennedy explained that part of the event's fun is to allow women the chance to relax during what could be a hectic work week.
"We are so busy, I think women don't have time for themselves," she said. "Women today are so busy needing to balance their families and their careers. I believe everyone needs a little pampering from time to time and Diva allows that little break in the middle of the week to let your hair down."
Tickets for Diva Night Out in the Abingtons are $20 and are available in advance only at the following locations:
