Waverly students in kindergarten through grade four interpreted the theme “Beauty is ... ,” with 78 photography, musical composition, literature, visual arts or dance choreography in the PTA Reflections program.
Student artists were judged on creative ability and expression of the theme. A total of 33 local winners were chosen and their work was sent to non-council judging against other local schools; 15 students were recognized at the non-council level.
They are: Brady Brust, Riley Calpin, Abigail Casal, Cameron Craig, Mariel Curra, Ross Cohen, Lauren Heine, Hayley Kane, Lucas Kreyling, Zoe McGlynn, Carolyn Lyon, Margrette Phillips, Nina Sampogne, Alexander Waskovich and Ariana Wisenburn.
Results from the regional competition were recently announced. The following students’ work will move to the state competition: Hayley Kane and Nina Sampogne for music, and Lucas Kreyling and Carolyn Lyon for visual arts.
The following students received honorable mentions at regionals: Ross Cohen and Mariel Curra in photography and Ariana Wisenburn in music.
