Pumpkin Decorating Day
The South Abington Lions Club will host a pumpkin decorating day on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 6-8 p.m. at the Chinchilla United Methodist Church, 411 Layton Road. This event is for children age 10 and younger and will include pumpkins, story telling, candy and refreshments.
Pulled Pork Dinner
The Newton-Ransom Volunteer Fire Co. will host a pulled pork dinner on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 4-7 p.m. Tickets are $9; $5 for children age 12 and younger. Menu includes a pulled pork sandwich, macaroni salad, baked beans, cole slaw, beverages and dessert. Take-outs are also available. Call 570-587-2526 for more information.
Marywood University will host an undergraduate open house on Saturday, Oct. 26, for high school students and their parents. The program will begin with registration at 9 a.m., and will include a tour of the campus as well as the opportunity to meet with current Marywood students, faculty and coaches. Information sessions with admissions and financial aid counselors will also be available. The Dalton Fire Co. ladies auxiliary will host a bingo night on Monday, Oct. 28, at the fire hall, 109 S. Turnpike Road. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Trunk or Treat
The Clarks Green United Methodist Church, 119 Glenburn Road, will host their annual Trunk or Treat celebration in the church parking lot on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 6-8 p.m. Cars or trucks will be decorated and their trunks filled with treats to be given to all children dressed in costume. Fall Leaf Pick Up
South Abington Township residents are advised that fall leaf pick up will take place on Saturdays, Oct. 26, and Nov. 16. The township is giving out 50 free bags per residence if needed and residents are asked to place leaves in bags only. Bags are for use on those two days only and not throughout the entire year. Election Day Dinner
The Fleetville Volunteer Fire Co. ladies auxiliary will host an Election Day turkey dinner on uesday, Nov. 5, from 5-7 p.m. at the fire house, located on Rte. 407. The menu will include turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, assorted desserts and beverages. Take outs will be available. The Abington Heights High School administration is seeking members of the Abington Heights High School classes of 2011, 2012 and 2013 to serve on alumni panels on Wednesday, Nov. 27, and on Friday, Dec. 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Abington Heights High School library, 222 Noble Road, Clarks Summit.
