Potluck Dinner

The Abington Heights Civic League will host its annual Christmas potluck dinner and installation of new members on Monday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. at its clubhouse, located at 115 Colburn Avenue in Clarks Summit. Call 587-3101 for more information.

Meeting Notice

The Dalton Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary will meet on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the Dalton Fire Hall, located on Turnpike Road. Bingo will be held on Monday, Dec. 10, at 6:45 p.m. This will be the final bingo until Monday, March 11, 2013.

Holiday Benefit

A holiday party benefitting the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter will be held on Thursday, Dec. 6, at Cangiero's Restaurant, 1315 Main Street, Dickson City. Tickets are $20 and there will also be a cash bar. A Christmas Carol

The Actors Circle will present a staged reading of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" as adapted by Paige Balitski with musical insertions and direction by Cathy Rist Strauch from Thursday to Sunday, Dec. 6-9, at the Providence Playhouse, 1256 Providence Road, Scranton.

Performances are Thursday-Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $8, $6 for students. Call 342-9707 to reserve tickets.

Christmas Tea

The Church Women United of Lackawanna County will host their annual Christmas tea on Friday, Dec. 7, at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove Street, Clarks Summit.

Attendees are asked to bring a Christmas stocking for the Clarks Summit State Hospital. Call Georgia LaValle at 344-6235 for more information.

Christmas Music Program

The East Benton United Methodist Church, 170 Jordan Hollow Road, will host a Christmas music program featuring the Wally Gordon Singers on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m.

Financial Aid Night

Abington Heights High School, 222 Noble Road, Clarks Summit, will host a financial aid night on Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 6:30-8 p.m. for district parents of senior students. Bill Burke from the University of Scranton and a representative from the financial aid office at Marywood University will present important information regarding the financial aid process.

Winter Concert

Baptist Bible College and Seminary (BBC&S) will host its annual Winter Concert on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14-15 in the Murphy Memorial Library. Performance times are Friday, Dec. 14, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m. and at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 and a dessert reception will be held in the rotunda of Jackson Hall for ticket holders an hour before each performance. The concert will feature student music groups, including the Concert Chorale and Chamber Singers, as well as solos and ensembles by music students and faculty. Performances will include works of J.S.
