Worship on the Lawn
The Waverly Community Church, 101 Carbondale Road, will host a worship service on the lawn on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m.
The service will feature Jesse Morse as service leader. Pastor James Cohen will also speak.

The Chinchilla Hose Co. will host its annual chicken barbecue on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 1-6 p.m at the fire house, 104 Shady Lane Road. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6.50 for children age 10 and younger.

The Endless Mountains Pilot's Association will host its annual all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 2-6 p.m. at Seaman's Airport, Windsock Lane and Seamans Road, Factoryville. Tickets are $8; $4 for children age 10 and younger.

The Waverly United Methodist Church, 105 Church St., will host its 44th annual Labor Day bull roast on Monday, Sept. 2, from 1-5 p.m. The roast will consist of beef, boiled seasoned potatoes, corn on the cob, rolls, baked beans, applesauce and assorted pies and treats. Beverages will also be available. Tickets are $12.50; $6 for children younger than 10. Take-outs are available. Ten percent of the proceeds go to the church's missions fund.
Chuck Parry, a local Edward Jones financial advisor, will host a free coffee club at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at The Glenburn Grill, 1144 Lackawanna Trail. He will discuss current events, the economy and investing. Breakfast will be served. Space is limited; call Jennifer at 585-8979 by Tuesday, Sept. 3, for reservations.

The Abington Heights Cross Country team is holding a T-shirt sale featuring the school's logo. T-shirts are made by Gildan and are in regular cuts and sizes. Orders are due by Monday, Sept. 16. Clarks Green Shade Trees
The Clarks Green Shade Tree Commission is seeking to assist borough residents by providing free or low-cost trees for resident properties. The commission is also looking for volunteers for plantings, scheduled in November and April, as well as attendees for its monthly meetings.
