The Newton-Ransom Volunteer Fire Co., 1890 Newton-Ransom Blvd., is hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet on Sunday, April 7, from 8 a.m. to noon. Tickets are $8; $4 for children. The menu will consist of pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, homefries and beverages. All proceeds will benefit the Newton-Ransom Volunteer Fire Co.
Softball Meeting Notice
The Valley Petunia League will hold its final preseason meeting for 12-U coaches on Sunday, April 7, at 6 p.m. at the American Legion post at 508 Church St., Jessup. The Abington Heights School District will host a learn to swim program for beginners, advanced beginners, intermediate and advanced swimmers.
The first session will run from Monday, April 8, to Thursday, May 2, and the second session will run from Monday, May 6, to Friday, May 31. The Knights of Columbus, Abington Council No. 6611, will host its monthly bingo night on Tuesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in the Gathering Room of Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. There is no cover charge; bingo cards are 50 cents a piece or three for $1. Complimentary light refreshments will be served.

Spring Book Sale
The Friends of the Abington Community Library will host their annual spring book sale at the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, 1310 Morgan Highway, Clarks Summit, on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Books, DVDs, CDs, books on tape and more will be available with prices ranging from 25 cents to $2. Admission is free.
Free E-cycling Event
The Abington Community Library, in partnership with the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, will offer free e-cycling on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, located at 1310 Morgan Highway.
Items that will be recycled for free will include telephones, cell phones, DVD and VCR players, filing cabinets, stereos, speakers, cables, cords, smart boards, keyboards, mice, UPS battery backups, laptop batteries, audio-visual equipment, microwaves, computers, monitors, projectors, printers, fax machines, floor copiers, television sets, gaming systems, calculators, adding machines, and exercise equipment.Items recycled for a small fee include refrigerators ($30), air conditioning units ($20), washers and dryers ($10), car batteries ($5), floor freezers ($30), dehumidifiers ($20) and dishwashers ($20). Donations made that day will benefit the Abington Community Library.

Serving Seniors, Inc. is seeking dedicated and caring people of all ages to provide friendly visits and companionship to residents in long term care and personal care homes within Lackawanna County.
