"Chalk Talk"
The B&B Art Gallery, 222 Northern Blvd., Suite A, South Abington Twp., will host a presentation by Joe Kluck on Sunday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. Kluck's presentation is entitled "Chalk Talk" and will focus on his pastel style of drawing. Call 585-2525 for more information.
Free Movie
The East Benton United Methodist Church, 170 Jordan Hollow Road, will host a free showing of "Have a Little Faith" on Sunday, Jan. 6, at 2:30 p.m. Popcorn and bottled water will be provided.
Meeting Notice
The Mysteries and Detectives Book Club will meet on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Abington Community Library, 1200 W. Grove St., Clarks Summit. The book selection for January is "Whose Body?" by Dorothy L. Sayers. The author for February will be Julia Spencer Fleming.
Classes Announced
The Abington Senior Community Center, 1151 Winola Road, has announced the following classes:
- Beginner Oil Painting: Begins on Tuesday, Jan. 8, and runs for five weeks from 2:45-4:15 p.m. Learn the basics of oil painting, including sketching, shading, mixing of colors and brush techniques. All materials included, except canvas. Cost: $35.
- Watercolor Painting: Begins on Thursday, Jan. 10, and runs for five weeks from 1-2:30 p.m. Instructor is Al Ondush. All supplies included. Cost: $40.
- Latin for Beginners: Begins on Wednesday, Jan. 23, and runs for seven weeks from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Cost: $35.
- Beginner Line Dancing: Held on Wednesdays from 1-2 p.m. Learn basic ballroom, Latin dancing, waltzes, cha cha, rumba and more. No partner needed.

Decoding Vitamins
The Waverly United Methodist Church, 105 Church St., will host a presentation entitled "Decoding the Vitamin Mystery," featuring Dr. Jennifer Finn, on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 1-3 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Call 586-8166 for more information.
Symphony Auditions
Auditions for the Northern Tier Symphony Orchestra's spring concert will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 5-9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 5-9 p.m. at the Tunkhannock Middle School. The following positions are available: concertmaster, assistant concertmaster, principal second violin, violin, viola, cello, bass, oboe, English horn, clarinet, bass clarinet, bassoon, contrabassoon, French horn, trumpet, harp, piano and percussion. Jeans Wanted
Libraries throughout the Lackawanna County Library System are collecting used adult blue jeans in good condition for the Clarks Summit State Hospital throughout the month of January. Women's jeans in size 12 and larger and men's jeans in waist size 32 and larger may be dropped off at any library before Friday, Feb. 1.
