AHMS Winter Concerts
Abington Heights Middle School, Newton-Ransom Blvd., has announced the following free winter concerts:
- Thursday, Jan. 24:
Eighth-grade orchestra
- Friday, Jan. 25:
Seventh-grade orchestra
- Monday, Jan. 28:
Sixth-grade orchestra
- Tuesday, Jan. 29:
Fifth-grade orchestra
All concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Alzheimer's Benefit
A concert to benefit Alzheimer's Disease will be held on Friday, Jan. 25, from 6 p.m. to closing at Duffy's Coffee House, 320 S. State St., Clarks Summit as a part of Sean Boland's senior project. The event features an open mic for acts. Those wishing to participate are asked to call 586-6253 and leave a message. Donations will be accepted the night of the event.
Athletics Hall of Honor
Baptist Bible College and Seminary, 538 Venard Road, will host its annual Athletics Hall of Honor on Friday, Feb. 1, at 6:30 p.m., in the Phelps Student Center. Banquet tickets are $15; reservations are required and must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25. No tickets will be sold at the door and childcare will be provided. This year's honorees include Sherrie Holloway, Zac Wilcox, Rich Meister and Jason Meister. Tickets may be reserved online at www.bbc.edu/events.
Pancake and Sausage Breakfast
The Waverly Masonic Lodge No. 301 will host a pancake and sausage breakfast on Saturday, Jan. 26, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Waverly Lodge, Abington Road, Clarks Green. Tickets are $7.
Gallery Talk
The B&B Art Gallery, 222 Northern Blvd., South Abington Twp., will host a gallery talk on Sunday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m. January's featured artist, Lynn Gano, will discuss the process of fine art printmaking and her works that are on display through the end of this month. Softball Registration
The Abington Area Girls Softball League is accepting registrations for the upcoming season, which will run from April until the early summer, with an all-star tournament this July and August. Used Clothing Drop Off Shed
The Church of the Epiphany, 25 Church Hill Road, Glenburn, is sponsoring a used clothing drop off shed, which is located in the church parking lot. All clothing, sneakers, shoes, belts, purses, blankets, sheets, pillowcases, drapes and stuffed toys will be accepted.
Organizers are asking that no rags, fabric scraps, pillows, toys or household goods be placed in the shed. Donations will not be cut up or shredded.
The items will be sent to people who can use them either in the United States or internationally.
Donations are tax deductable and receipts are located on the shed. If possible, please place items in tied or closed bags.
Little League Signups
Christy Mathewson Little League
Christy Mathewson Little League signups will be held at the Lackawanna Trail Elementary Center, College Ave., Factoryville on the following dates:
- Saturday, Feb. 9, from 1-3 p.m.
- Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 6-8 p.m.
- Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 6-8 p.m.
The Benton, Dalton, Factoryville and Nicholson teams will hold registrations on those dates for both baseball and softball. Lake Winola will hold registrations at the Lake Winola Fire Co.

Abington Little League
The Abington Little League and the Christy Mathewson Little League will join together to provide little league softball for girls ages 6-16. Girls who live in the Abington Heights School District are welcome. Signups will be held at the Lackawanna Trail Elementary Center, College Ave., Factoryville, on the following dates:
- Saturday, Feb. 9, from 1-3 p.m.
- Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 6-8 p.m.
- Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 6-8 p.m.
