Bible Camp

The Waverly Community Church, 101 Carbondale Road, will host a one-day “Backyard Bible Camp” on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 9-11:30 a.m. The free event for children in preschool and older will provide children with interactive lessons, tie-dye crafts, songs, games and snacks. 5K Run/Walk

Abington Christian Academy will host its second annual adult 5K run/walk and free .5K kids’ fun run on Saturday, Aug. 16, on the cross-country course of Baptist Bible College and Seminary, Venard Road, South Abington Twp. Registration is from 7:30-8:45 a.m. The adult run/walk will begin at 9 a.m. and the kids’ fun run for ages 14 and younger will begin after the adult portion of the event. Race classes for the event include running, walking and Clydesdale (over 200 pounds). Awards will be given. Adult registration is $15 in advance and $20 on race day. Vintage Treasure

The Waverly Women’s Club will host “The Vintage Treasure” on Saturday, Aug. 23, on the lower level of the Waverly Community House, 1115 N. Abington Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Items to be sold will include small appliances, jewelry, glassware, toys, purses, clothing racks and bundled plastic hangers.

Scout Registration

Cub Scout Pack 251 will host its annual registration at the Clarks Green United Methodist Church, 119 Glenburn Road, on Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 6-8 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 6-7:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, Sept. 24, from 6-7:30 p.m. Boys in first through fifth grades or who are six to 10 years of age are invited to register.
