Cave Exploration

The Keystone College Environmental Education Institute (KCEEI) will host a program entitled “Exploring the Underworld” on Saturday, Aug. 9. Participants will get the chance to explore two caves in upstate New York with naturalist Michael Nardacci and biologist Dr. Jerry Skinner. Cave formation and conservation, as well as cave-dwelling flora and fauna will be discussed. A registration fee of $100 will cover transportation, all applicable fees and lunch. Dance Auditions

Symmetry Dance Studio, 206 N. Cocktails for the Courts

The Waverly Community House, 1115 N. Abington Road, will host its annual “Cocktails for the Courts” fundraiser on Friday, Aug. 15, from 6-8 p.m., rain or shine. The event will feature signature cocktails by the State Street Grill as well as wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres. Music will be provided by the Von Storch Trio. Tickets are available at the door and are $25; attendees must be age 21 or older. All proceeds will benefit community tennis programming at the Waverly Community House. Senior Center Activities

The Abington Senior Community Center, 1151 Winola Road, South Abington Twp., will host the following activities this fall.

• Oil painting classes will be held on Tuesdays from 12:45-2:45 p.m. The ten-week session will run from Tuesday, Aug. 26, through Tuesday, Oct. 28, and will be taught by Mary Lou Chibirka. Cost is $70 for the session.

• The center will run a bus trip to Baltimore and Annapolis, Md., from Wednesday, Sept. 10, through Friday, Sept. 12. The trip will include a tour of historic Baltimore, Annapolis and the Naval Academy. There will also be a harbor cruise to see the tall ships and a Blue Angels practice session. Cost is $354 per person, double occupancy.
