Art Exhibit

The Abington Community Library, 1200 W. Grove St., Clarks Summit, will host Glory Road: Railroad Posters and Photo Illustrations by Al Pierce on Saturday, June 28, from 10-4:30 p.m. Organizers say that this historic and reflective exhibit highlights the remains of the steam railroading industry with graphic designs and photo illustrations of the companies, employees and passengers that showcase the golden age of rail travel. The exhibit captures the imagery and terminology that was used in the early days of railroading with poster designs of steam engines, passenger cars and the railroad memorabilia that has long been associated with the industry.

The exhibit was funded in part by a Lackawanna County Arts & Culture grant and was featured at the Steamtown National Historic Site previously. Call 570-587-3440 for more information.
