Third Friday Art Exhibit
The B&B Art Gallery, 222 Northern Blvd., South Abington Twp., will feature oil painter Yuri Dvornik for its monthly Third Friday Art Exhibit, this Friday, Feb. 15, from 5-7 p.m. Also exhibiting are Edie Suydam, David Walsh, Helmut Kunst, Teresa Velardi, Bre Reynolds, Jay and Mary Ann Paulukonis with continuing artists Joe Kluck, Wayne Ferree, Chrisite Miller McMahon, Kirk and Leslie Van Zandbergen and Lynn Gano. A wine and chocolate tasting featuring the Bartolai Winery and Bella Faccia's chocolates will also be held that evening.
Sports Signup and Physicals
Spring sports signup and physicals for Abington Heights High School will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 2:30-6 p.m. at the field house, located at the high school on Noble Road. All students interested in trying out for a spring sport should come to sign up for the team they wish to join. A physician will be available to give a sports physical at this time; cost is $15.
Athletes who did not participate in fall or winter sports need to turn in the Abington Heights participation form and PIAA comprehensive initial pre-participation physical examination form at the field house during signups. Athletes who participated in fall sports and who have an athletic participation form and PIAA comprehensive initial pre-participation physical examination form on file will need to turn in a recertification form from a parent or guardian. Practice and tryouts will begin on Thursday, March 14.
Pizza Sale
The Chinchilla Hose Company, 113 Shady Lane Road, South Abington Twp., will host its annual Lenten pizza sale begining Friday, Feb. 15, and continuing every Friday during Lent through March 29, from 2-7 p.m. Red and white broccoli pizza will be available for pickup. Orders can be placed on the day of the sale by calling 586-5726. All proceeds benefit the operations and needed equipment of the Chinchilla Hose Co.
Pizza and Halushki Sale
The Factoryville Fire Co. Ladies' Auxiliary is sponsoring a pizza sale on Fridays during Lent, beginning on Friday, February 15, from 3-6:30 p.m. at the fire hall on College Avenue. Pizzas are $8 for 12 cuts; toppings are extra. Halushki is also available. Call 945-5769 to place an order. Walk-ins are welcome.
Free Yoga Class
The Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, located at the intersection of the Morgan Highway and Grove St., is sponsoring a free yoga class on Tuesday evenings from 6-7 p.m., instructed by Tina Young.
