Love Series: Love is in the air at Waverly Community Church, 101 Carbondale Rd., Waverly.
The movie “Fireproof” will be shown free at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5. RSVP by Feb. 5 for a Valentine’s dinner at the church at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12. The cost is $10 per person.  
A free six-week series called “Marriage Built to Last” starts at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19.

‘Souper Saturday:’ “Souper Saturday,” Feb. 6, is the day before the Super Bowl. Chili and Manhattan clam chowder, both homemade, will be sold for $6 a pint from noon to 2 p.m. at the Dalton Fire Co. Pre-orders can be made until Wednesday, Feb. 3, by calling 563-2694.
Funds benefit Breanna Wood, 10, Dalton, who is going to Australia this summer with the People to People Student Ambassador program.

KidsMusic at Comm: The Waverly Community House will offer a 10-week semester of KidsMusic with Karen Kane in the Scout Room on Tuesday mornings beginning Feb. 9. Registration is open to tots between 18 months and 4 years. The fee is $110, which includes tuition, registration fee and materials to make music at home. ‘Vote for Me:’ Tyler Weinberger, a sophomore film student at Emerson College and a 2008 graduate of Abington Heights High School, and his roommate Dean Dimitruk are top-10, two-person finalists in MTV’s Red Carpet Correspondent Contest.    
The winning team will go to the Academy Awards.

Festival of Ice: The circus is the theme of the sixth annual Clark Summit Festival of Ice over Presidents Day weekend (which includes Valentine’s Day), Feb. 11-15.

Camp Kestrel: Alliance Landfill will present a Camp Kestrel habitat workshop on Saturday, Feb. 13.
The free workshop will include birdhouse building, a landfill site tour, wildlife presentations, a low-litter lunch and information about recycling, composting and conserving resources.
The camp is recommended for children age 8 and older. Reservations are required.

Food Drive for Animal Shelter: Kevin Young, a volunteer at the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, will hold his annual food drive for the shelter through Feb. 14.
This is the sixth year he has held the drive to benefit animals at the shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Township.
This year, the following Abington-area schools and businesses will participate: Abington Heights High School and Abington Community Library.
Officials of any business or organization interested in having a collection site are asked to call Young at 947-1393 and a collection bin will be dropped off.

Breakfast Buffet: Clarks Summit Fire Co. No. 1 will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at 321 Bedford St., Clarks Summit.
The cost is $7; $4 for children.

Game Night in Chinchilla: Chinchilla United Methodist Church, 411 Layton Road, Chinchilla, will hold a game night at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27.
Bring your favorite game, the entire family and your friends too, according to church organizers. Participants also are asked to bring a favorite snack for sharing; beverages will be provided.

Junior Wrestling Championships: Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre will be the site of the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling State Championships on Friday and Saturday, March 26 and 27. Wyoming County Reads: What was the Great Depression really like? “Wyoming County Reads: One County, One Book, One Play” will bring to life the Great Depression and the resilience of those who lived through it, through reading, discussion, photography, displays and a performance of the Frank Galati play based on John Steinbeck’s novel, “The Grapes of Wrath.”

Seven Weeks to Wellness: At Everything Natural, 426 S. State St., Clarks Summit, Seven Weeks to Wellness runs from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Feb. 24. The remaining schedule is:

Pilates Classes at Comm: The Waverly Community House offers morning and evening Pilates classes with Hilary Steinberg in the Scout Room.

Attic Shop Hours: The Attic Shop, an upscale consignment shop, has reopened after renovations.
It is open Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon and the first and third Wednesdays from 7-9 p.m.
Consignments are taken Wednesdays from 9:30-11:15 a.m. and first and third Wednesdays from 7-8:15 p.m.

SADD Collecting Cell Phones: Abington Heights High School Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) are collecting cell phones at the high school. All cell phones are cleared and programmed with 911 for use by the elderly. The phones may be dropped off in the main office of the high school.

Social Singles Club: A social singles club meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month at Our Lady of Snows Church rectory basement on State Street, Clarks Summit.
